Reflections

Greetings,

As I sit here I'm listening to a song called my worship is for real. The lyrics go as such, "you don't know my story, all the things that I've been through. You can't feel my pain, what I had to go through to get here. You'll never understand my praise, don't try to figure it out because my worship is for real. I've been through to much, to not worship hm."
This song hits home for me on so many different points. I've been away from playing professional basketball for 6 years, which is something that I absolutely love to do. Now I'm back doing what I love in the Holy Land of Israel, that is a blessing within itself. I know the Lord had me away for a reason, I accept that and embrace that. I stayed with my passion, my desire and love for the game never left. My faith in Lord is so strong and I always knew that He would get me back to doing what I love no matter what it took. I passed my test, which was the Lord asking me to show him My Faith.
I'm ready to receive his blessings and be a living testimony for those who are at a crossroad in their life and want to give up, I can tell you this stay strong in your Faith and Trust in the Lord with all Your heart. Don't let doubt into your mind because it clouds your judgement, it makes you believe you are doing the right thing by not pursuing what the Lord has brought you to do. Its not an easy thing to do and its painful to be doing something that you don't love to do just to get by. Keep the Faith and know that the Lord is preparing you for a blessing so big that you won't have room enough to receive it. Are you Ready?
Sometimes we get off of track from what we think is Our Plan but that's merely the Lord saying My Child, come with Me and I will show you the way. So when the time comes ask yourself, Am I Ready? Show him that you are ready and that you mean what you say through your actions and your character. For I am a living testimony that not only do dreams come true the first time around, but its so Sweet the 2nd time around time. When God is your captain, you need not to worry. My boat is sailing on an adventure, I have no clue of where its going, but I will enjoy My Journey, every step of the way.
Thank You Jesus

The Sacred Western Wall

Shalom,

Yesterday I visited the great city of Jerusalem. It was quite the experience and I had an excellent time. The highlight of the day was visiting the Western Wall. This is where people go and write out a prayer list and after writing their list, they fold the paper up as small as they can and place it inside the wall. In my opinion this is a very deep and soul refreshing experience for everyone. Think about it, your prayers are your most deep, intimate, secretive thoughts. The Western Wall is a holy place for you to place your thoughts in a secure location and if you believe and have faith, your prayers will be answered. When you pray to yourself or when you wake up or before you go to sleep, you are essentially talking to the Lord. At the Western Wall it just felt to me that I had so much power because I was putting my prayers in a tangible place, that is considered to be the most holy.  Not saying that my prayers when I speak them go unanswered, just saying that the sacred place I put them in, the meaning itself to me is powerful. The wall is so sacred that you should not turn your back to the wall ever. So after you put your prayer list inside and pray to the wall, you have to walk away from the wall backwards, never turning your back to it. Beautiful experience it was.

My 2nd Week in Israel

Hello to All,

My second week thus far has had a very good progression. The first week there was no access to weights or cardio machines to get in some extra work. Now there is no excuse for not putting in the work needed to get better. I'm experiencing the culture of Israel and its very interesting indeed. The food tastes different from what I'm used to eating in America, but its a good thing to try something new. I'm learning a few Hebrew words here and there, I haven't been equipped to hold a solid conversation yet. Slowly, but surely this will come to past. Writing these posts truly makes me reflect on the journey of my life and the road the Lord took me to get right back to where I belong. I feel confident and humble to say that basketball is where I belong and what I was meant to do. I thank the Lord for his many blessings and I also thank him for bringing me into the land of where his Son Jesus walked. When I reflect on that alone, I'm so thankful and my heart is filled with joy.
We are currently 1-3 right now, so that means there is wrong for improvement. Even if we were 4-0 there still would be room for improvement. My goal is to lead my team to as many victories as possible making contributions in every category that's helpful. To do that my conditioning has to be better, my strength has to be better, my mindset has to be better, and my leadership has to come vocally and by example.
So as this third week approaches I hope to tell you some more interesting facts and stories about my experiences in this country.  Week by week, day by day, the focus is to get better. As always "To God, Be The Glory". Talk with you next week. Sababa(means cool in Hebrew)

My First Week in Israel

Hey Guys,

I know its been awhile since my last blog, but let me update you on the latest happenings in my life. Most of you know that I've been focusing on getting back to the love of my life which is basketball, and I'm proud to announce that its happened. I'm currently playing on a team called Hapoel Tel Aviv located in Ariel, Israel. This is a great opportunity and experience for me and I'm very thankful that the Lord has blessed me with this second chance. It has been 6 years since I last played professional basketball and to be given this opportunity of doing it all over again I give praise to the Lord Almighty.
My first week in Israel has been great. So far I've experienced eating new foods, that I don't eat when I'm home in the States. It's not as bad as I thought. The people here are very nice and very accepting even though we have different religious preferences. I've been invited to 2 dinners for the Jewish Shabbat, which I must say was very good. We've played 2 games in which we went 1-1. I've also had the chance to experience the nightlife and the dining of the country. There are quite a few  people whom speak English here, so communication is not a bad barrier.
All in all, I'm really enjoying myself with this wonderful experience and opportunity that I've been blessed with. I'm so very thankful and humble for this chance. I feel I'm back to my normal self again, doing what it is I love to do. Blessings and I will check back in next week.

Blessings

It's been a while since I've blogged in the past few weeks here. There has been quite a bit of positive things going on from the last time that I've written an entry. I've been blessed to be named as an assistant coach at a private school in Broward County. I'm looking forward to the upcoming season as well. I'm meeting many different positive people who only wanna see great things happen and they are willing to help you succeed without you giving anything to them. The lesson I get out of that is that if you truly and genuinely give from within your heart, your blessings will come to you ten-fold. It's also a scripture in the Bible as well. Good things do happen to good people, you just have to keep believing, keep the faith, and keep striving for success. Don't judge a book by its cover, remember at times its a requirement for us to where many different faces, but who you are can never be disguised.

Positive Energy

I have not been blogging the past few weeks, but so much positivity has been going on and I'm just grateful. It's amazing how when you surround yourself with positive thinkers that so much good comes out of it. Not only are you learning from them, things start to transpire in your life. I was asked to Coach a middle school team and help out with the varsity team, which I accepted with open arms. Needless to say that all the positive energy that has been surrounding me and the blessings from the Lord has led me to solely being promoted to coaching the varsity team as an assistant coach. There is something else in store that I will be pursuing or a couple things for that matter, but I will mention those a bit later. Keep pushing towards your goals and stay focused on your dreams. Demand excellence of yourself and great things will be in store for you. There is no time like the present, do it now, don't procrastinate.Achieving is Believing

Doors Opening

When the Lord said that he can and will open doors for you that no man can close, its the absolute truth. Over the past week I've been getting proposed with so many great opportunities that I really have to sit back and make decisions on which ones to pursue or if there is a chance for me to pursue them all. I'm so grateful for the people that I have come in contact with that are actually giving me other contacts that are in direct alignment of what I'm trying to accomplish. You could not believe the magnitude that I'm feeling right now, I'm truly thankful and appreciative. It's gonna be a "Sweet Rebound."

Nobody Said The Road Would Be Easy

It's the small and simple things in life that have the biggest impact, without them major things could not occur. I would like to quote a verse from a song that goes like this: "I don't feel no ways tired, I've come too far from where I've started from. Nobody told me the road would be easy, I don't believe he brought me this far to leave me." [He can be considered as whoever you feel your Savior is] That's a short and brief statement that has a magnificent effect/affect in my life. Everything that I've accomplished, ( I'm sure this can go for your life as well) has not been an easy task. Through it all I've looked back over my life and can truly say I've come so far from where I've started from. With just little daily strides towards my goals puts me in a place closer to my goals. Obstacles will always show up in your life, they are what I considered to be called tests. The only way to know if you can pass a test or not is to take the test. Prepare yourself for the unexpected, everything doesn't always go according to plan. Decisions are crucial throughout our journey, even the smallest ones. To get to your goals its going to be hard, if it were easy everyone would be doing it. To get something you've never had, you have to do something you've never done. Keep focusing on your goals, He didn't bring you this far to leave you. Achieving is Believing

New Start

Yesterday I talked about the journey beginning and today I'm taking the stance on a new start. It's one thing to say that something is beginning and its another to start taking action to start that journey. There are so many things that can distract us from just starting the journey that we have planned for ourselves. We have to plan daily and stick to our game plan on reaching our goals. I'm not saying that some things won't come into play and throw us off track that will require our immediate attention, I'm saying make the adjustments and stick to the script on the story that we are writing. There can only be one author to your life's story, anything else would be considered someone talking in third person. No one knows exactly how you feel or can explain your feelings better than you. Just releasing some thoughts that were on my mind. Here's to preparing yourself for a Sweet Rebound. Achieving is Believing

The Journey Begins

In a world full of opportunities for good and bad, which decision does one make? I've been to the highest places I could only dream of and I've been in the lowest places where it seemed like a nightmare. It's the knowing that I've made it and achieved my goal makes it that much more desirable for me to get back to it. At this point making it is not enough for me, but sustaining it is a destiny fulfilled. Going from being drafted in the WNBA and currently right now not playing is a story within itself. To truly Achieve your goals you have to Believe that you can get there. I've been blessed with a gift that needs to be displayed, I believe that with everything in me. So as you read the title the journey begins, its truly beginning for me right now, at this time, in this moment. Everything I do will play a role in getting back to my destiny. Determination, desire, and faith are just a few things that will get me there. Follow along this journey with me and track what can be accomplished with some hard work and self application. Prepare yourself for a Sweet Rebound. Achieving is Believing
